A. Windows Server allows 2 Remote Administrative Terminal sessions. If you want more than that, you need to purchase Terminal Server Client Access Licenses and configure the server to run Terminal Services in Application Mode. At which point you control the number through licensing.

How do you connect to a user account in Windows Server 2003 as administrator?
Q. We are using windows small business server 2003 with windows server 2003 as part of the same domain. How can I connect to a user's account as an administrator? I can connect to a users account by changing their password but I would like to connect to their account with 1) not changing the password and 2) log in as an administrator so the GPO does not take effect on that account. Thanks!

A. You don't. security. If you could, you could "frame" someone for sending out e-mails of an offensive nature or steal company information. It doesn't matter that you say you would never do such things - SBS is based on Server 2003 and large companies need this kind of security. Change the users passwords or if you need to test something without the GPO applying, then create a test user.

What is the value of the active directory in windows server 2000?
Q. I'm really stuck on this one but I need to find the information out, looked around but can't find what I need. Could anyone evaluate the value of typical services available from a network operating systems system directory service. Abit confusing i know, bit confused myself. Basically, I'm wanting to know about the the value of the active directory in windows server 2000.

A. Active Directory gives you as an administrator a centralized place to manage all of the objects on your network. Objects can include Users, Groups, Shared folders, and printers. It makes managing a large network alot easier. One of the best features of active directory is Group Policy. With group policy you can deploy software to 100's of users remotely with ease as well as lock down the environment of your users. You can force people to use a certain wallpaper for example, or make the control panel inaccessable. Also, with active directory sites and services it makes managing multiple physical locations in your environment alot easier as well. Heres some more info for ya!
