what kind of window treatments should I use on extremely small windows?
Q. I live in the basement and I have a total of 3 windows which are extremely small. The ones in the study and the kitchen are 1 ft in height X 2 ft in length. The ones in the bedroom are 1 ft in height X 4 ft in length. These windows are located near the ceiling and not in the middle of the wall if that helps. Putting up regular sized curtains seem inappropriate and I'm scared it may overpower the look of the room.Not to mention it may look weird. What are some ways that i can cover up the windows for privacy reasons? Are curtains the only way to cover the windows and if so, what can I use? What are some alternative ways if there are any?

A. If you keep it simple by using a valance the small window will not be over dressed. Use a roman shade or blinds for privacy.

How do I stop windows live messenger windows automatically popping up when I have a message?
Q. My windows live messenger is really annoying me. Sometimes when I am on firefox or something else whenever someone sends me a message it automatically brings the message window to the front, on several occasions I have almost accidentally entered a password into a conversation! Does anyone know how I disable this from happening. Strangely it does not happen all the time, just occasionally.

A. If you minimise the chat windows while you are not using them, then this should not happen. Instead it should flash orange on the taskbar to tell you there is a new message received. And if you have alert sounds on, then a sound should also play.

How do I open two windows with two different email accounts?
Q. Up until last week, I was able to have two windows open, and able to log onto each of my yahoo accounts. Last week, it seemed to change. Now if I am logged onto my mail account and then open another window for my business account, it will only let me have one email account open - the same on both windows. How can I get it back to how it used to be? Thanks!!!

A. You might be having a problem related to the cookies that track your logins. Ifg all else fails, try using two different web browsers one for each login. For example, use Firefox for one login, and IE or Chrome for the other login.
