Most often they are manufactured (e.g. bicycles, cars, motorcycles, trains, ships, boats, and aircraft), although some other means of transport which are not made by humans also may be called vehicles; examples include icebergs and floating tree trunks. Vehicles may be propelled or pulled by engines or animals including humans, for instance, a chariot, a stagecoach, a mule-drawn barge, an ox-cart or rickshaw. However, animals on their own, though used as a means of transport, are not called vehicles, but rather beasts of burden or draft animals. This distinction includes humans carrying another human, for example a child or a disabled person. Means of transport without a vehicle or animal would include walking, running, crawling, or swimming. Vehicles that do not travel on land often are called craft, such as watercraft, sailcraft, aircraft, hovercraft, and spacecraft Land vehicles are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the ground: wheeled, tracked, railed, or skied. GNU Free Documentation License What kind of vehicle is somewhat cheap but is also cheap to fix? Q. I have a Saturn that the transmission and/or torque converter went out, also has power steering problems. In the long run would it be better to sell off this Saturn as parts and get myself a new vehicle? If so, I would like a vehicle that would be somewhat as inexpensive as the Saturn ( I realize, technically all cars are expensive, but Saturn is cheaper than most) but cheaper to fix later on. Thanks for any help anyone is able to give me. Someone said that if you fail smog your required to get a vehicle inspection? Q. What does this mean and could it be valid ? "vehicle inspection" ? Asked by Shoe Maker - Sat May 31 17:44:16 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. What is your state of residence and its laws regarding registration and vehicle inspections? This could be important because of differences in laws. Wisconsin has South East counties operating under pollution elevated rules that require emissions tests at time of sale and as officer orders- the test is simple tail pipe check and visual check of factory equipment has not been removed. If the vehicle doesn't pass- the plate and registration process is held until vehicle passes but state specific inspection is not required- just pass emissions test soon. Iowa will have some vehicles inspected by state inspector and will run VIN, check exhaust and required equipment as well as emissions- vehicle failing a couple times will not be allowed on… [cont.] Answered by curmudgeon1955 - Sat May 31 18:05:30 2008 What happens to your vehicle if it was used in a drug sting?
Q. What happens to your vehicle if it was used in a drug sting? Would the police seize it even if you were only purchasing marijuana (which is a misdemeanor crime)? Also what would happen to your vehicle if you've had drugs inside your vehicle (even if it was only for personal use)? Also what if your vehicle wasn't completely paid for? Asked by Doobie - Wed Dec 12 20:41:55 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Not only will you lose your vehicle, you could also be charged as an accessory if you loaned your car to the person caught in the drug sting. The police could produce evidence proving you knew the person you loaned your vehicle to was a drug dealer or drug runner. Then not only would you lose your vehicle, you would lose your freedom as well.
