How are the earnings from Options trading reported to IRS by brokers?
Q. I have some earnings from trading in options on stocks in the share market. My broker has informed me that no form 1099 is issued in respect of earnings from options trading. That being so, how does the IRS know what earnings an options trader had in a given year?

A. The IRS will not know from the brokerage firms reporting what profit you have earned from trading options. However is subsuquent years they might uncover your brokerage account statements and discover the under reporting there. A reminder you can deduct trading and financial advisory expense in certian cases. ( this expenses might offset your trading profits). Check with your tax advisor

A. Participating in the forex market is no different from trading in the stock market. You open an account, fund your account, and you are on your way. In fact, you can open a forex trading account with less money as compared to a stock trading account. Making money from your trading, either in stocks on in forex, is an entirely different question. Not everyone will make money. The reason people think trading foreign exchange is high risk is because you are speculating and not investing. In the stock market, when you buy shares of stock and it goes against you, you can hold on to that position since you own those shares. You can choose to not sell at a loss. What's the best cell phone for trading stocks?
Q. I'd be very interested to know your own personal experience trading using a phone. I trade mostly out-of-the-money options so it's not like I need to execute trades, but it's good to know that I can get my order filled fast if possible. Also, how does the speed of cell phone live quotes compare to real-time quotes? I've noticed myself that my trading software at home is faster even than CNBC when they have the camera shot of the INDU ticker.
