How will the adjuster determine the replacement value? Q. I had an unattached, 2 car garage, which was just destroyed in a storm. I had it insured under my homeowners policy for $12,500.00, and it is a total loss. I am interested to know how the adjuster will determine value? If it is deemed irreparable, am I entitled to the entire amount of 12,500, or will he try to offer a lesser amount, if he feels that it is not worth 12,500? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance... ***MSAD Thank you for your answer, but I am still a bit unclear? You mention that "if the estimate is below the coverage limit, this is what I will get" Do you mean that if the adjuster determines an absurdly low estimate, that is what I will receive. or will I receive the coverage limit? Thanks again for… [cont.] Asked by brake guy - Sat Feb 9 17:52:17 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. The adjuster will write an estimate to rebuild the garage. If the estimate exceeds the amount of coverage - then the max he will pay is the coverage limit. If the cost to rebuild the garage is less than the coverage limit -that is the amount that will be paid -less your deductible. Since I don't know what type of policy you have - I can't tell you if there would be other costs - such as deprecation that could come into play. Your adjuster will be able to explain it. Answered by MSAD - Sat Feb 9 17:57:40 2008 Loss of use car reimbursement from Insurance.? Q. Two of my cars were totaled by a hit and run driver. The driver was found by the police and I filed a claim with his insurance company. They denied my request for a rental car at the time of my reporting it to them. Two months later the DA has filed charges against the driver/owner and I got a call from his insurance wanting to settle. However they do not want to pay for loss of use for my two vehicles since I was loaned a car from my friend and did not rent one because I knew my cars were totaled and I had to save to buy a replacement car.. Is there anything I can do about this?. I live in California. Asked by Baboo - Fri Oct 24 00:46:23 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. They do owe you for loss of use. Its called a Cash Out Option, I work for a major insurance company. Many Many times claimants ( the other guy not at fault verses our customer) have done the same thing, We offer a cash for about $15 s a day for assistance in transportation if for some reason they can not get a rental or chose not too. You may be eligible for both vehicles if other family members had to get alternate transportation. I suggest you call your insurance carrier who can advise more specific CA state laws. They do however owe you for a Rental vehicle car while settlement or payment is pending. The do owe at least that much. The rental should begin the day of loss or the day you get into a rental, and end upon completion of repairs, [cont.] Answered by Peggy G - Sat Oct 25 06:26:53 2008 How would you classify these chemical reactions.?
Q. These reactions are to be classified as single replacement, double replacement, synthesis, or decomposition. I'm a little confused with these three because I think they have sort of multiple reactions. The first looks like double disp./ decomposition and I think the third is double disp/ single disp, but I'm at a total loss for the second reaction. Can anyone explain these? (most of the numbers are supposed to be subscripts) 1. Ca(AlO2)2 + 8HCl -> 2AlCl3 +CaCl2 + 4H2O 2. BaCO3 + C + H2O -> 2CO + Ba(OH)2 3. 2CeO2 + 2KI + 8HCl -> 2KCl + 2CeCl3 +4H2O + I2 Thank you to anyone who can help! Asked by polishmonkey266 - Tue Apr 8 17:51:02 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes, you are correct to see that these don't fit the patterns for the common reactions you mentioned. Reactions 2 and 3 are examples of REDOX reactions and won't fit the patterns of double or single replacement. I would also categorically state that it is silly to try to shoehorn these reactions into one or more of these general reaction types. In number 1 the reaction is between AlO2^-1 and H+ to make Al ions and water and really doesn't fit any of the usual patterns either. AlO2^-1 + 4H+ --> Al^3+ + 2H2O Students (and teachers) need to understand that the reaction types of synthesis, decomposition, single and double replacement cover only a fraction of all chemical reactions.
