How many states have Immigration issues on the November ballot?
Q. What states are voting about this issue and are these laws going to make life tougher or easier for illegals in these states? Why is ESL now going to be taught to immigrants for a certain number of years in the hopes that they learn to speak English?Can anyone please post a list of each state that is voting on Immigration issues and what's are stake for taxpayers?Or even the illegals?

A. First it a money drain on the schools to add ESL to their programs, it a wrong to add this to train illegals that are not paying taxes to start with. Think it be hard to find what on each ballot of each state at this time. unless you want to go to each state, i would think they may not know yet either.

Which states do I pay income tax to if I sold to multiple states?
Q. My corporation is incorporated in CA and has an branch in TX, we sell products to many other states. Do we have to file state income tax for every state we sell to? I also have a branch in TX

A. There are several different taxes you need to consider, basically sales, franchise and income taxes. Each has different requirements that give you nexus (aka a tax term for physical presence in a state) and are not interchangeable. Each state has different laws, although many items are similar. But it is easiest to know where you sell and how it is sold (the activity) in those states. For example, if you are based in CA with your branch in TX and you sell to other states, delivering the product via third carrier then changes are most likely that you do not need to find any sort of taxes in another state. However, if you employ sales people who work in states other than TX & CA, you might have potential nexus for sales tax and even… [cont.]
