How do shopping trolleys grind to a halt when they cross the red line?
Q. I've never tried to steal a shopping trolley (why would you want to?) but I have seen that sticker on them that warns that the trolley will stop immediately when it crosses the red line. Is this true, and if so, how does it work please?

A. What do you mean steal a trolley ... I paid 1 for mine!!! "The introduction of a hi-tech preventative measure aims to reduce the problem and Sainsbury s has committed to installing a new electronic security system which will prevent people from taking the trolleys off site. The system works on a radio signal transmitted from within the Horsham store via a sunken wire which will surround the car park and be marked by a highly visible red line. All trolleys will be fitted with a device within the wheels and if trolleys are pushed over the wire, a brake comes on and the trolley can no longer be easily pushed. The brake is de-activated and the trolley can be wheeled once it is pushed back inside the car park boundary."

Shopping for a new cell phone and I want a good battery and good bluetooth reception?
Q. What specs do I look for, such as what kind of battery or bluetooth specs when shopping for a phone. I haven't had any luck with Samsung batteries and if I don't have the phone in my hand the bluetooth is all static. I'm going to shop around at AT&T and Verizon. Any suggestions? I am currently a Sprint subscriber... I am thinking of leaving Sprint.

A. I currently have a contract with Tmobile.. THey have a good phone which is the samsung behold. Right now if you order this phone you will get a bluetooth headset for free. T-Mobile has great coverage I will give them a try.

What to look for when shopping around for home equity loans?
Q. Any advice on what to look for when shopping around for home equity loans? Are there referral commissions? I have a couple of individuals looking for a home equity loan ... I told them I'd look into it for them. I'd like to find a quality vendor, but if referrals commissions are paid out, I'd like to negotiate for that too. How do I figure out what is a "great deal"? PS. I'll happily take general replies but this would be specific to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

A. You have to have a mortgage license to collect a commission. It is not legal to be involved without a license.
