A. Nessebar is certainly my favorite beach town at the BG seaside. Its old town is preserved in its original style, and all new construction must follow strict guidelines, so when you cross over the peninsular you find yourself in a unique architectural space. Cars are restricted there, so you can walk the cobblestone streets undisturbed. The beach of the new town is peaceful with a huge sand dune for some quality family time, while one can always go (walk by the sea!) to Sunny Beach on the other side of town. It is said you can enjoy some heavy-duty night life there, though the club we liked was quite unpretentious on the edge of the peninsular under a windmill. Food is superb, whichever one of the zillion local restaurants you choose, arts-a [cont.]

Can you suggest a seaside resort with no fair, and not too far from leicester to travel to for the day please?
Q. We are looking to take the children out for the day on monday, but we need somewhere that isn't going to cost hence a beach somewhere.

A. Sutton on Sea is a Lovely little town with beautiful beaches. It really is a forgotten place which adds to its charm. No amusement arcades. The journey will be no more than 70 miles from Leicester and take just over an hour if no hold ups with bank holiday traffic. Sleaford is an interesting town to stop for a break and then go onto Tattersall Castle. A huge red brick castle that you can climb to the top and peer down through where they used to pour boiling oil on unwelcome guests. The grand children will love it because we did as kids. The best bit was seeing my mother clamped to the wall because she didn't like heights. She dreamt about it for weeks! Alford, just inland of Sutton on Sea is a delightful town and worth a look.
