How do I make a function return multiples values in visual basic ?
Q. Ok, I need to create a function than returns multiple values. I'm writing a program to calculate values for a game. One of the formulae uses two values X and Y and needs to return two different values rather than one. I know I could use two functions but the whole point is to write as little code as possible so functions are very useful.

A. The only way you can do that is to pass variables by reference and then update them in the called function. Alternative would be to have it return a structure (a user defined type) with multiple elements.

What paper do i send with my state return?
Q. I only worked for One Company. If i need to file NC and SC state returns, Do i send with my state return for NC, the W2 showing SC and the one showing SC, as well with a copy of my Federal return. Or. Do i only send to the state of NC portion of my W2 with NC taxes. My W2's allthough i worked for one company i got two, One showing SC taxes and one showing NC taxes.

A. There is something unusual about the circumstances that you describe. Normally you are required to file a state tax return in the state in which you live and any other state in which you worked or earned income. You should only get a single W-2 if all of your work was in one state. Now you may have worked some in both states and that would require that you file a return for both states. Hopefully you live in one of those states or the issues grow. Most states allow you credit for the tax you may be required to pay in another state so that you are not really taxed by both although you must file a return in both.

If you amended your taxes but the federal return already deposited in your account, should you send it back?
Q. I made an amended return to my state and federal government (NY, US). I believe the government may have already deposited my first refund ($700) - My amended return asks for $2400. Should I send the federal government a check immediately with the original return amount, or include any form or letter? Any help is greatly appreciated in this trying matter!

A. The IRS operates on a ledger system.. So, when they sent you $700, their obligation to you was done. However, when you amended your return and you were to receive an additional $2400, they will send a separate check. Never send the IRS back a check, unless you know it is an error and they have instructed you to do so.
