How long is it safe to leave my cactus plants outdoors in New York City where it freezes in the winter?
Q. I have several cactus plants that have been outdoors all summer and look great, but now that the temperatures are starting to drop into the 40s at night I'm a bit concerned. I know it must get a little chilly in the desert too but I don't want to risk any damage to my plants. Should I bring them in now before there's any chance of a frost or wait til November when the weather becomes more unpredictable?

A. Don't leave them out for any frost. Not all cacti are cold resistant and even the ones that are won't survive if the soil in the pots freezes.

A. Social Work, Teaching, Social pedagogy, Nursery, etc I think there are several majors which combine children and outdoor. For instance, being a social worker in a public regional countryside club for children and teenagers is an amazing choice - especially in a developing country (Peru, Ghana and so forth). How to keep a dark blue car that's parked outdoors shiny?
Q. My car is a solid (non metallic) midnight blue color and it has to be parked outdoors. The color oxidizes fairly quickly. I polish it in the fall but come summer the paint will turn chalky again. Is there anything that will really protect the paint? I've been using Menzerna FP2 and glaze. Wax will definitely fade fast outdoors. Are sealants any good?

A. Wash, clay bar, wax. Maybe go over it with a little quick detailer when it starts to look bad and see if that clears it up. If not, you're probably going to need to wax often. I know my Mustang sits outdoors and I wash it weekly but it's a PITA to keep it clean since it's exposed to the elements at all times.
