A. Let there be an inward investment project for setting up an automobile or chemical manufacturing plant. The benefits to business economy during the construction perid of the project are greater demand for construction material like steel, cement, pipes, etc. The construction workers flow to the location of the plant: their local expenditure leads to additional business sales of soaps, detergents, food, clothes and various other services. Once the construction phase is over, there is additional demand for supplying raw materials/ spares to the new plant. A. D. Amortization is not cash-related. Income taxes are. B and C sound good but those are trick answers -- you don't total the inflows and outflows, you total the net present value of the inflows and outflows.

A. Investment in government by a private person is done by buying bonds, Not only in city bonds but in state bonds and U.S. Bonds. The advantage in most cases is no income tax. The three levels borrow money with bonds and I have never had one default on me.
