Make sure the motor & electrics stay dry as you put the fan/ water wheel in the moving water and the bulb lights up. voila! Answered by Duncan Henderson - Sat Mar 21 14:57:15 2009 How does computer-generated animation work?
Q. I understand 'traditional' animation: artists draw and paint thousands of frames that differ from each other only slightly. These thousands of frames are separately photographed, and when they are projected at 24 frames per second, the illusion is that the drawing/paintings are moving, and therefore 'animated'. I also 'kinda' get how computer images are made by creating shapes and then adding texture. My question is this: is the same principle of traditional animation applied to these computer-generated images? Do thousands of stills have to be generated, so that when these frames are projected at 24 frames per second, they appear to be animated? Or is there software that allows CG images to be animated some other way? Any links to easy- [cont.] Asked by L - Thu Feb 7 09:31:37 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes thousands of still images have to be generated by the computer to create the animation, but they are not painstakingly created individually by the artist. Scenes are created using specially made programs (a common one is 3DS max, but big studios such as pixar have their own programs) and the objects and characters in the scene are essentially told what to do and the computer generates the individual frames. This speeds up the process and is a lot faster than the old method of drawing each frame by hand.
