Can a vet treat a mix of exotic, large and small animals?
Q. I'm interesting in becoming a vet, but I'm not sure what types of animals I could treat. I'm interested in small animals like dogs and cats, and large animals like horses, cows, sheep, etc. But I'm also into exotic animals; and not just exotic pets like ferrets and snakes, but the more zoo-related animals like big cats and stuff. Can a vet at least combine treating large and small animals? And is it possible to also treat the exotic animals, maybe by making "house" calls to a conservation center?

What are some exotic and small freshwater fish for my aquarium?
Q. I have a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium and I want a small exotic fish that will get along with a community type lifestyle, a fish with very low aggression. If you could please tell me the name and make sure it is cool looking. In addition, if you could provide a link it would be great. It can give you a chance at the best answer. AN easy 10pts.

A. tiger barbs 100%- just buy them in groups of 5 or more and they will whiz around the tank with each other! Add green versions and albino barbs to create a colorful aquaruim. They live at 72-82 Farenheit and eat brine shrimp and fish food as a main staple in their diet. they grow up to 3 inches DO NOT keep them with slow moving fish such as angelfish and bettas. that is asking for trouble as they will nip fins. note: in groups of 6 or more they do not nip fins. unless fish above and some others. (ask your LFS) gouramis are wonderful tropical fish that live in tropical temps. the eat the same as tiger barbs and grow to four inches they do not school and will not go well with the tiger barbs. i would go for gouramis!

What would be a beautiful and exotic country?
Q. I'm writing a story and it's about a girl called Amily Hawks. Amily is an English girl who is quite rich, elegant, but very naive. I'd like her to live in a beautiful and exotic country that exists in real life as well. Do you have any suggestions?

A. You do not state the time period. You also do not state the crisis or climax, is there a war going to happen, is she going to fall in love, be a mistress? If 1800 to early 1900 the far east is the most exotic. Second place would be Africa, southern not like Egypt. If 1900 to 1950, then France, Italy, or Spain. After 1950, then Australia, or the south sea islands.

What type of exotic animals do celebrities buy?
Q. These could be exotic of just regular pets.
Asked by Nick P - Fri Nov 24 15:03:35 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Hi Nick...Hugh Hefner (founder of Playboy) has a variety of exotic animals: spider, caphuchin monkeys, yellow tamarins, talking parrots, peacocks, goldfish, rabbits and stalks and many more. He has a staff of licenced zookeepers to manage the menagerie at the Playboy Mansion. I think he's the exception to most celebrities, because exotics require full-time care for their lifetime which most celebrities are unable to provide since they are always traveling and working long hours.

Where do I get exotic animals for a wedding?
Q. I'm not sure if you can do it other than a park, but I'm getting married and I thought it would be a cool idea to have maybe monkeys or colorful exotic birds there. Any suggestions?
Asked by Rottweiler Dog Lover - Tue Jul 14 08:41:12 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First off, I don't think it's very fair to the animals to use them in a wedding. I feel bad enough as it is that many are on exhibit at zoos when they really should be in the wild. But to answer your question, yes, some zoos do rent animals for weddings. I have a friend who rode in on an elephant to his wedding (I'm not even kidding!) But it cost them thousands of dollars because the elephant had to be shipped from a zoo hundreds of miles away - and think of how unpleasant that trip must have been for the poor animal. Please don't force an animal to be in your wedding. And if you do want animals, look into getting married at a reputable zoo.

A. Licensed wildlife rehabilitators do not own the animals in their care. These people have the specialized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals and they have the required state and federal licenses that allow them to keep the animals only until they are healthy enough to be returned to the wild. If a licensed wildlife rehabilitator takes in an animal for rehabilitation, and the animal is injured too badly or for some other reason is not able to be rehabilitated for return to the wild, that rehabilitator can not legally keep the animal unless they are also in possession of a special "educational purpose" license. If they do not have such a license, they must find some other person or facility (like a zoo) that has… [cont.]

What do you think about having exotic animals as pets?
Q. have visited Missouri several times lately to take care of tigers. And the people there have told me that it is completely legal to buy and have any exotic animal (tiger, lion, leopard, giraffe, monkey etc.) that you want. They have a huge flea market 4 times a year where you can buy them. What are your thoughts on this and the people that breed and sell them? and by the way... I dont agree with this what so ever, i just want others thoughts on it
Asked by animallover - Mon Jun 16 13:43:57 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They're not pets, plain and simple. They ae wild animals, even if they are born and raised in captivity... There are very, very few people with the knowledge, skills and capacity to properly keep them as close to wild as need be.

Q. have visited Missouri several times lately to take care of tigers.

A. They're not pets, plain and simple. They ae wild animals, even if they are born and raised in captivity... There are very, very few people with the knowledge, skills and capacity to properly keep them as close to wild as need be.
