Asked by Ally, THAT girl - Sun Mar 2 22:27:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Wow, that's a tough question. We hardly know anything about Etruscan civilization as a whole, asking about women is even more difficult. You may want to look at Plutarch, i think he might have a few things to say about women, but it'll be awfully sparse. I'm almost certain that some of the Etruscan tombs uncovered in Italy were of noble women, but you'd have to look them up, and even then there's probably not much to say about their role in society. Its not because there's nothing to say about women, just that's there are hardly any sources on the Etruscans period. Q. Anything from cities to monuments. Asked by Thrawn - Wed Oct 25 00:30:40 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Though question, try looking for these: 1) Sorano (small village in Tuscany, plenty of Etruscan tombs) 2) Pitigliano (same as above) 3) Ostia Antica (Roman/Etruscan city outside of Rome, "antica" means "the old" so Ostia Antica is Ostia the old as opposed to Ostia, a small city currently inhabited) 4) Tarquinia and "Necropoli di Tarquinia" (yet another example of Etruscan city where the old and the new coexist) 5) Etruria (ruins of old Etruscan city) A few minutes of searching for text and photos with these 5 pointers and you should get more than you ever wanted to know about Etruscan structures.
