How come insects can survive dropping off a height?
Q. How is it insects aren't injured when they drop off a ledge or a table (which must be equivalent to us dropping off a significant height)?. Would an insect be able to survive dropping off a mountain for example?

A. there weight to area ratio makes doesnt alow them (most) of them to fall fast enough to impact on a surface and cause damage. but i have seen huge heavy beetles (huge dung beetles the size of your palm) that fall with some force, some sustain damage, and some don't. Edit_ Pat G : since insects aren't effected by tempurature like we are, most can tolorate cold tempuratures. they just go into a deep sleep. i found this out recently, i bought a load of meal worms, way too many, and i was able to put them in the fridge were they go into a dorment state and you can warm them up later and there back to life! but i think insects can only tolorate drops in tempurature to a certain amount. some insects will birrow down into the soil were the… [cont.]

How long did it take for labor to start in a second or later pregnancy after dropping?
Q. Most of the information I've read says that in second pregnancies, dropping usually occurs just prior to labor. I am 31 weeks and have just dropped- just wondering how likely I am to go full term.

A. This is my second pregnancy and baby dropped at around 31 weeks as well. I'm now at 39 weeks and not even dilated! So I would say it all depends on your body.
