What causes a sparrow to peck at windows?
Q. For the past month we have had a sparrow (I think it's a song sparrow) pecking at the windows of our house. When it first started, it pecked and fluttered continuously for almost a whole day straight. Now it starts at first light and continues sporadically throughout the day, sometimes until almost dark. It usually pecks at the small windows by our front door. It has chipped off the paint on the sills and pooped all down the wall under the windows. I tried covering the windows with paper. That didn't work. Then I tried putting some decals in the windows. That didn't work either. I thought maybe it was seeing it's reflection, but it also has started jumping around on windows that have screens. Is this bird just crazy, or what?

What kind of window covering should I use besides blinds on closet windows?
Q. I have a small room with 2 windows off my bedroom. I want to convert this room into a closet. I am concerned about the sunlight fading the clothes; on the other hand, I would like to retain as much light as possible. I don't particularly want to use blinds. I am seriously considering using the self-adhering embossed vinyl window film. Good idea or bad idea? Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you.

A. You should probably check to see how the windlow film works. It may allow enough filtered sunlight in to fade the clothing. You could use a window shade, I suppose. That would give you some control over how much light the room receives.

Can a window unit air conditioner be used in a room without windows?
Q. Can you just sit the unit on a chair or something, or does it need the outside air to cirrculate? I need to use it in a room with no windows. Any thoughts?

A. no it needs a window to go into.it needs to take the hot air out and blow the cool air in.you cannot use it the way you are planning too.
