What components use the most power in a computer?
Q. As the question says, I am doing a report and was just wondering what components/computer features use the most power to run? Thanks.

A. It depends on the computer you're using and mainly what parts are installed in it. The CPU's available today have different power consumption rates and some motherboards even offer to lower it during a normal state, etc. Mine has a 260 Supersonic video card that requires a lot of power, sometimes even more than the CPU as it has 2 fans included and requires its own supply of power. But mainly, the CPU requires more power than the rest of the whole computer. It also depends on how you use the computer, i.e. gaming, multitasking, etc.
