A chemical substance is a material with a specific chemical composition.

A common example of a chemical substance is pure water; it has the same properties and the same ratio of hydrogen to oxygen whether it is isolated from a river or made in a laboratory. Some typical chemical substances are diamond, gold, salt (sodium chloride) and sugar (sucrose). Generally, chemical substances exist as a solid, liquid, or gas, and may change between these phases of matter with changes in temperature or pressure. Chemical reactions convert one chemical substance into another.

Forms of energy, such as light and heat, are not considered to be matter, and thus they are not "substances" in this regard.

A. Yes, a chemical reaction has happened. Bubbles and the "disappearance" of zinc points to chemical reaction. Bubbles show that a gas was formed

What chemical is sprayed on apples to keep them form turning brown?
Q. I love that McDonald's has some more healthy snack selections. In particular I enjoy the fruit and walnut salad. I know that they must spray some type of chemical to keep the apples from turning brown. I bought a pack today 11/16 they will be considered edible until 11/28... That sounds chemically modified to me.

A. The apples might have been soak in a water & lemon juice mixture, or anti- browning solution made with Vitimin C ( Ascorbic acid ) which is added to many foods not just for it nutritive value, but extensively as an anti-oxidant, and to prevent flavors and colors from being damaged by oxidation. It is widely used used in canned and frozen fruits to prevent the browning that accompanies oxidation.

Q. What chemical connection has the most polar bones and who connection from the above is not polar? 1) H2S 2) CS2 3) PF3 4) IBr Please i need help thanks for all answers who will be given.

A. Polar bones are found in polar bears. The most polar bonds have the greatest electronegativity difference. H-S -- 2.58 - 2.20 = 0.38 C-S -- 2.58 - 2.55 = 0.03 ** most non-polar bonds P-F -- 3.98 - 2.19 = 1.79 ** most polar I-Br -- 2.96 - 2.66 = 0.30
