From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The word cartoon has various meanings, based on several very different forms of visual art and illustration. The term has evolved over time. The original meaning was in fine art, and there cartoon meant a preparatory drawing for a piece of art such as a painting or tapestry. The somewhat more modern meaning was that of humorous illustrations in magazines and newspapers. Even more recently there are now several contemporary meanings, including creative visual work for print media, for electronic media, and even animated films and animated digital media. GNU Free Documentation License How can i learn to draw old Warner bros style cartoons? Q. I mainly do really detailed, realistic, graphite on paper illustrations. I really want to learn how to make cartoons. I really don't like all that "Anime" stuff. I have always enjoyed warner bros things like bugs Bunny, road runner, and such and i would really like to draw in that style. Anyone know where i could get some tutorials online or from a specific book that can teach beginner to intermediate artists how to do what i have mentioned? Thank you! A real good book i recommend is the animators survival guide. It show many positions and goes through walk cycles, and how to exagerate your characters to make them seem more real. Another good source is to just copy the ones you like. practice drawing like the road runner in many positions, then eventually try to draw him in your own poses. Also look up the original disney animators, they basically built the foundations of the entire animation world. I have a 3 year old and one the way, I'm not really sure which cartoon to use, Spongebob says the words stupid and poop, Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers show too much action, like fighting with swords. What kind of cartoons don't have villians or things like this? Asked by Sam - Wed Jan 7 17:21:49 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments A. well a lot of cartoons have "naughty words" (as my toddlers call them) like poop and stupid. Which is upsetting to me as a parent. The only tv shows my 2 year old kids watch are Tom and Jerry (which have a lot of action but it is funny and they love mice and kitties.) they also watch Backyardigans (it doesnt have anything bad) and elmo, Barney and word world. Elmo and Barney are their favorite. (mine too because they use appropriate words and let the kids interact with the tv) they sometimes watch Dora or Go Diego Go. All of those are educational, fun and interesting cartoons for little kids my toddlers ages. (twins who are 2) Cartoons are hard to find now-a-days. I agree with you completely.
