America Answers
How can America justify their demands to stop nuclear weapons production?
Q. I need help understanding this situation. It's not the demand to stop the production that's difficult, it's plausible. It's the fact that America has the same weapons they are trying to abolish. How can someone point a gun at someone else carrying one and pretend to enforce a law upon him that he is not allowed to carry his? Thanks for your time and thoughts.

A. The US is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, as is almost every other country on the planet. The parties to the NPT agreed to two things: 1) The countries that did not have nuclear weapons when the signed the treaty would not develop them, and 2) The countries that already have nuclear weapons would actively work to prevent their spread. So, the reason that the US does this is that the other countries asked them to. The reason that the countries without nukes asked for this is because almost every country in the world is bordered by a country with an unstable government. Nobody wants their crazy neighbor having nukes.

A. One simple way (just for starters) would be to make students pass an exam that allows them to go on to the next grade level in school. For example, a 5th grader must pass an exam to be allowed to start 6th grade. If not, then he/she should be held back until they start taking school more seriously.

Why are America and China considered to be on different continents when it only takes a few hours to travel?
Q. (continued) between them by a plane ( which I have done many times with my family )? Do continents even mean anything anymore nowadays? America and China are like two provinces of the same country IMO.

A. They are 2 nations on separate land masses with oceans between them. That makes them different continents, with our means of travel these days, the continents are only important for geography, and geology. and history.
