About This Website
The primary purpose of the Texas Trader website is to promote the sale of recreational vehicles and related goods and services at the main Texas Trader sales lot in La Feria, Texas.
We believe the most direct means of promoting sales at Texas Trader is by getting potential customers to visit the sales lot. But to get people to visit the Texas Trader sales lot they must first be in the Rio Grande Valley. So, those who are not already in the Valley are strongly encouraged to visit. Promoting tourism in the Valley is therefore another goal of this site because it serves our primary purpose.
The second prerequisite to get potential customers to visit our lot is that they must be in the market for RVs or related goods or services. Consumer interest in RVs and related goods or services is fostered through educational information and industry links. Promotion of the RV industry as a whole is yet another goal of this site as serves our primary purpose.
The third prerequisite to get potential customers to visit the Texas Trader sales lot is that they must actually know it exists. Those potential RV customers in the Rio Grande Valley area who are not aware of the Texas Trader sales lot must therefore be informed. Our limited resources are directed in the manner which we believe to be the most economical and effective. There are only two ways of promoting goods and services on the Internet - links from other websites (including graphical links or banners) and email. The most effective links we use are those on sites which focused on both the Rio Grande Valley and recreational vehicles. These being limited, the second most effective links we employ are those on sites which focused on either the Rio Grande Valley or recreational vehicles. The third most effective links we make use of are those on sites which appealed to our main demographic (middle-class retirees from the Midwest). The least effective links we use are untargeted links and are generally avoided unless free. Email is another means of promoting our business website. Bulk email (spam) annoys most people and we therefore avoid it because we believe it to be counterproductive to building good relationships. On the other hand, opt-in mailing lists sent to willing parties may be helpful if cost effective an is currently being explored.
The fourth prerequisite to get potential customers to visit the Texas Trader sales lot is that they must believe Texas Trader has an RV, product or service they want. We attempt to make potential customers aware of the current range of RVs, products and services Texas Trader provides which fit their current needs. Inventory descriptions, however, are usually only just enough to get potential customers to call or come in. We realize that customers have a huge number of choices. Most will try to disqualify as many prospects as possible before ever leaving home. We have found that providing too much information up front allows potential customers to focus on relatively trivial things and disqualify us before ever contacting us or visiting our lot. We believe this to be to our mutual disadvantage so it is generally avoided.
The fifth and final prerequisite to get potential customers to visit the Texas Trader sales lot is that they must trust us to deal with them fairly and honestly. We realize that trust must be earned. The ways in which we endeavor to earn our customer's trust trust are:
- Sincerity - We strive to give all of our customers the personal attention they deserve, displaying care and a genuine willingness to help. The Texas Trader website is loaded with tons of unbiased and honest advice of interest to the novice and full-time RVer alike.
- Familiarity - First and foremost Texas Trader has strong name recognition. Few RVers in the Rio Grande Valley have not heard of Texas Trader. But name recognition is nothing without a good reputation. Years of hard work and fair and honest dealings with thousands of satisfied customers have garnered us one of the best reputations in South Texas. We strive to be simple and straightforward with all aspects of our customer relations, knowing that a lack of confusion is essential to building trust. Finally, we strive to promote a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where customers can make good informed decisions without undue pressure.
- Positive customer testimonials - We realize that not all the RVs we sell can be absolutely perfect. Occasionally, one will develop some minor problems after leaving our lot. This can't be helped. However, the professional way we deal with these unavoidable problems distinguishes us from the rest of the pack. Positive feedback from those dealings which have gone perfectly is not as important to us as positive feedback from those dealings which have had a minor glitch.
- Recommendations from professional organizations - We are members in good standing of our local Chambers of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and related industry organizations. Potential customers can research our company at their leisure from these independent and unbiased organizations.
- Written warranties and guarantees - All of our new RVs come with written factory warranties. Used RVs have our limited warranty on all major appliances. Some units are eligible for extended service agreements of up to 7 years.
