How many deceased are there in the Westminster Abbey in London?
Q. Including both bodies and ashes, how many different dead people are there in and around the Westminster Abbey?

A. This is the best I could find - 3,300: "There are around 600 monuments and memorial statues together with many gravestones and commemorative floor slabs, though these represent only a small proportion of the 3,300 people who are actually buried in the church and its cloisters." How is Wycombe Abbey School? What is its standard for a year 9 student?
Q. I want to study in Wycombe Abbey School in year 11. I know it's the time for GCSE, and I need to have high academic results. What is the standard of Wycombe Abbey School for a year 9 student?
Asked by Tiffany - Sun Nov 9 07:59:53 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's a top independent school. It's hard to compare standards as you don't have any exams to compare. So, focus on where you want to be to gain entrance. Study hard, get involved in school activities, and read lots- newspapers and novels. Scholarships are option, not just at Wycombe Abbey, but at lots of private schools and sometimes you can get bursaries to cover the rest if your parents don't earn much. Getting in for year 11 might be tricky. Main entry at schools tends to be when you're either 11, 13 or starting sixth form. But look at the website and request a prospectus. All the best!

Who are the Beatles supposed to be on Abbey Road?
Q. Okay so me and my boyfriend are having this huge argument about who the beatles are supposed to be on Abbey Road. So here's what i say. John is the preacher, Ringo is the undertaker, Paul is the dead man, and George is the grave digger. Is that correct so we can FINALLY end this argument?

A. What you're referring to is one of the various "Paul is dead" theories (note the word "theories"). Unfortunately you're both arguing about something that has only ever been speculative in the first place. You could just as easily be arguing about why Paul is the only one with a black carnation in the "Your Mother Should Know" clip, why Paul has a raised hand behind his head on the "Sgt Pepper's" cover... all these things have been raised as "proof" that Paul supposedly died in 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike (and presumably someone who sounded and wrote songs exactly like him as well). None of the Beatles have ever shown anything but bemusement over these so-called "clues". In fact John, in a particularly vitriolic moment, wrote… [cont.]

Who is she and her song at the Live From Abbey Road TV commercial?
Q. There is a TV Commercial that I see on Sony Entertainment Television channel. It is about Live from Abbey Road show. There are pieces of several songs but there is one from a Lady British Singer (I can only tell for the accent) that says something like "every time I get up" or something similar. She is wearing headphones. It is really brief and it goes by so fast. I have done some research but I can't find the right song. Your help will be highly appreciated

A. 1. First call up the Abbey phone banking and give your Natwest account details. They will create a mandate for you. 2. When they do it you can see it under "make payment" option of your Abbey online banking. 3. SImply choose the amount you want to transfer and click on transfer :) Hope this helps?

In Northanger Abbey, what exactly is Jane Austen trying to say about novel reading? ?
Q. I find Jane Austen's use of irony, satire, and parody, quite confusing when trying to determine her intent in writing Northanger Abbey. Is she defending 'Gothic Fiction' or is she scorning it? Thoughts? Also what about novel reading in general? In what ways does Northanger Abbey make a case for the value and pleasures of novel reading?
Asked by dimsim20012000 - Thu Nov 6 10:43:16 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Austen talks about the joys of reading, but Catherine takes the love of Gothic novels too far in her suspicions about Adm. Tilney. Austen was a fan of gothic novels and read many of them, but in Northanger Abbey she was writing a clever satire on the genre. The book definitely makes a case for the pleasures of reading, but it also warns of the dangers in letting your imagination run away with you.

A. According to Goldmine, the record collecting magazine, it is not original. If it is catalog #SO-383 with a purple label and large Capitol logo it is a reissue or repressing from 1978 and only worth about $10.00.

A. A cathedral is a very large and important church which has a bishop in charge of it. An abbey is a church with buildings attached to it in which monks or nuns live or used to live. I have no idea about 'notre dame'. *
