Is it possible for a bad alternator to drain a battery whild a vehicle sits overnight?
Q. i have a 86 ford f15o with a 352W and the battery keeps going dead, unless i unplug the alternator.

A. Sounds like the diode in the rectifier has gone bad. This is a cheap repair if you can find an Alternator rebuild shop. Ask around at some automotive electrical shops and you may find one. If not replace the alternator.
