Where is a good, relatively affordable place to live in the Phoenix area?
Q. We currently live in Utah and have considered a relocation to the Phoenix area for work but I've only been through there twice and know very little of it but I know there are many places like Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria etc, they just don't mean anything to us since we are unfamiliar. I know that commuting is terrible but that goes with the turf. Where can you find a relatively affordable 3 bedroom, 2 bath (minimum) home with a pool (mid 200k to 300k range??) that would be safe, in a family type neighborhood, allow a large rv (need rv pad) and some collector cars and NOT have an HOA? (Home Owners Associations don't really like us car collectors and large rv people) How far out would you have to go? We don't really care… [cont.]

I'm in agreement with ltmonroe I also live in chandler (with my bf and my 3 little girls ages 9,7,and 6) we are both 30 and don't do the club scene either. our neighborhood shares a wall with chandler mall and we couldn't be more happy!! our neighborhood is older (house was built in 86. 3 bedroom, 2 bath and about 1900 square feet w/a good sized backyard. we have an RV gate but no pad and NO HOA). we know all of our neighbors and the area is super safe and quiet. my bf bought the house back in 2001 for 110K but it's worth about 265K now. most houses selling in our area go for about that much and are about the same size as ours. My husband and I want to live alternative?
Q. My husband and I are in our late 20's have a little boy and we are already pretty alternative people. Our son has a disorder"not physical disability" that requires both my husband and I at home with him and not able to work so we have decided that since we have to live so extreme so we can take the best care of our son maybe we should just live a little out there when in comes to our lifestyle and living arrangement. We own our home outright and we have put it up for sale and we are trying to decide what kind of alternative living arrangement we want to go for. We have thought about buying a huge RV and just traveling around or maybe a cabin somewhere. We want to have about 50,000 to put aside and use the rest to finance what ever we buy.… [cont.]

A. Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live completely, 100% off of the grid and are completely self sufficient using alternative fuels / energy. I was in a similar situation as you few years ago. www agua-lun com We do not leave our ranch except about once or twice a year, mainly for travel and vacations. We raise meat and milk goats, chickens for meat and eggs, ducks for meat and eggs, trap havilina (wild boar pig), rabbit, quail. brew our own beer from home grown products, preserve our fruits, vegetables, etc. smoke and jerky the meat, make our own soap, cheese. Q. I'd been with this guy for 3 years. Ever since I met him I'd been happier than I've ever been. Only when we fought had there been speculation on whether I was happy because I loved him or because he came in and rescued me from a miserable life living paycheck to paycheck in an RV. I have this overwhelming feeling that I want him,love him and can't imagine living without him! It has nothing to do with our lifestyle. We broke up on the day we were getting evicted from our apartment. Things were the most stressful they'd ever been,as we had not quite enough for another place and the only option was for him to stay with friends who hated me and for me to stay with my mother,whom he and I both hate! A. Dear, What you really, really need is to get away from BOTH those jerks. my advice? find the money, Find some new friends, Get some independence. Start your own life. Dont worry dear. I know it might seem hard, but no one said that freedom would come easy. You need to beleive in yourself, to beleive that you can live. There are other men out there dear, But how will you see them if you dont take a chance? How do you think that you cannot live alone without even trying?
