The State of Louisiana ( /luːˌiːziːˈænə/ (help·info) or /ˌluːziːˈænə/ (help·info), French: État de Louisiane, pronounced [lwizjan] (help·info)) is a state located in the southern region (Deep South) of the United States of America. Its capital is Baton Rouge and largest city is New Orleans. Louisiana is the only state divided into parishes, which are local governments equivalent to counties. The largest parish by population is Jefferson Parish, and the largest by land area is Cameron Parish.

Some Louisiana urban environments have a multicultural, multilingual heritage, being so strongly influenced by an admixture of 18th century French, Spanish and African cultures that they have been considered somewhat exceptional in the U.S. Before the American influx and statehood at the beginning of the 19th century, the territory of current Louisiana State had been a Spanish and French colony. In addition, the pattern of development included importing numerous Africans in the 18th century, with many from the same region of West Africa, thus concentrating their culture.

With Louisiana mineral rights, how does inheritance work?
Q. Our father died last summer. We were getting papers together for his lawyer and discovered that our grandfather left mineral rights on some Louisiana acreage to our father. How do we find out if these mineral rights are still valid? Is there a registration somewhere for Louisiana mineral rights? Is there a time limit on how long mineral rights are valid? We don't have any paperwork other than wills, and my husband is a teacher so we can't really afford to go to LA right now (we're in NC). Is there a government office that handles mineral rights? Thanks!

A. In Louisiana Napoleonic law rules. I would check out the Napoleonic law section in the parish seat. The mineral rights will be listed there.

A. You are out of state. strike 1. 20 over you are lucky you only got a ticket. It takes time to process yes. You should have a court date on the ticket. Your insurance will go up. Out of state speeding is brutal. I live in N. Louisiana. I got a ticket for going 55 in a 45 and it cost me $175.
