A. If the directory provides information like addresses, email lists, contact persons and company information on C-level, VP, Director and Manager etc, like how Jigsaw does, then it can be considered the best. Yes, most online directories do not store adequate information; but Jigsaw s company information is user created and hence authentic and reliable too.

How do I read a company's financials information before buying shares?
Q. Assuming that I find an attractive stock with potential to go up (based on past performance), how do I read that company's financial information (ie. cash flow, debt, assets, dividends) to decide if the company's doing well? For example, I've read several times that X company is a good buy because the price/share is low but they have X million in cash and very little debt. I usually go to Yahoo Finance for any company stock information. How can I read the Financial section and interpret all that stuff? Thanks.

A. here is what i often look in the company's financial statement: -Liquidity Ratio the ability of a company to meet its short term obligations. This ratio is important to short term creditors and bondholders. -Activity or Efficiency Ratio reflects the intensity of a company s resource utilization or how efficient management team uses its assets or capital to generate sales. -Gearing or Leverage Ratio measure the debt-equity relation in a company s capital structure or the extent to which the company has made use of financial leverage. -Profitability Ratio measure of operating effectiveness and can be classified into two categories; profit margin and rate of return.

Dedicated Long-term Investors: What are your sources for company background information?
Q. I know of a few, like Investor's Business Daily, the company's investor relations page, and other sources such as yahoo finance and google. I want to know what you use, and also if there is a place, besides the company's website, that shows the financial information over longer periods of time, such as several years, so it is possible to analyze growth. Thanks!

A. If you know the state in which the company is registered, you can go to the state's corporation division and look up information on officers, registered agents and operating/mailing addresses. That is, if the state has public records available online. For a fee, you could use Dun & Bradstreet at www.dnb.com. Hope this helps...

Has anyone received a phone call from a market research company gathering information about on-line banking?
Q. She (the caller from the marketing company) said that I would receive $200 for the 20min phone interview, then if selected $100 for a second phone interview or $200 if selected for an in-home interview---this was a 1-in-6 chance. She said that their "client" who would be reveiled during the surveys would not be trying to sell me anything, but to try out their online banking tools and then comment on them. What I thought was strange was she didn't identify what market research company she was with, how she got my number, and what company/client they were gathering information for. [she did say that it would be "reveiled" during the interviews] I decided to pass on this, but is this legit? She call me from (503) 281-5015.

Q. What is the usual dress attire for a company information session?
Asked by Someone - Thu Jul 2 01:42:54 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you will be seen by clients or customer wear full regalia. If there are home office people from out of town, financial analysts or shareholder board members, full regalia. If it is less than twenty people all of whom you have worked with before, golf or boating attire. General rule of thumb: dress the same way your boss's boss dresses. I was amused, when I got out of college, how the higher in rank a person is, the cheaper the suits they wear.
