Finance Question - Don't know where to start.?
Q. Your neighbor is buying a new recreational vehicle (RV). If he buys the RV for cash, the price is $45,000. Alternatively, he could buy the RV for monthly payments of $750 at the end of each month for 72 months. At what discount rate, will the two options be equally attractive (using monthly compounding)?

A. If he pays $750/mo for 72 mos then that is $54,000 with $9,000 of that being interest only. I think you would have to work backwards to figure out the interest rate he's being charged. Then you could play with some discount figures to see how much of a discount should be given off the purchase price so that he pays a total of $45,000 including interest at the end of 72 mos. I'm sure there's got to be an algebraic formula out there that would work.

Paint a vehicle yourself?
Q. How feasible is it to paint a vehicle yourself? We have an old school bus that we would like to fix up into a camper (sounds ghetto, LOL, but we actually like fishing and other outdoor activities so it is a perfect idea to put this otherwise useless vehicle to use). The thing is, we want to make it look nice and not so "trailer-parkish." It does not have to look PERFECT, but it should look nice have a somewhat quality appearance. I am experienced in the actual conversion and electrical aspects of turning this bus into a recreational vehicle, but have never attempted to paint one. How feasible is it to paint a vehicle yourself as opposed to taking it to a body shop? Is it worth the investment of buying painting equipment to do this… [cont.]

A. i painted a van myself. i used a cheap sprayer and it turned out allright. it is a good 20' paint job, any closer, and you can see some runs, etc. instead of buying an automotive paint, i used a product from benjamin moore called aliphatic acrylic urethane. it is a two part epoxy that is chemically VERY similar to auto paint. it should cost a lot less than auto paints. it might be worth checking out. i painted 3 years ago, and there is no fading, etc. looks great! you can order from most benjamin moore dealers, find one online at it might be worth checking into, and it was fairly easy to work with.

2007-2008 Polaris 800 ATV?
Q. Does anyone own a a polaris 800 or 500? And how does it ride? Have you had any complications. About what kinda credit do you have to have in order to buy a recreational vehicle. The last time they checked my credit my middle score was 641. That was a couple of months ago. Do you think i would qualify for the payment plans?
