The definition of an artist is wide-ranging and covers a broad spectrum of activities to do with creating art, practicing the arts and/or demonstrating an art. The common usage in both everyday speech and academic discourse is a practitioner in the visual arts only. The term is often used in the entertainment business, especially in a business context, for musicians and other performers (less often for actors). "Artiste" (the French for artist) is a variant used in English only in this context. Use of the term to describe writers, for example, is certainly valid, but less common, and mostly restricted to contexts like criticism. From Wikipedia under the

Is it possible to link the artist page to the "music" tab on my personal page? Right now when I click that tab it leads to my artist profile on ilike rather than on facebook. I think yes you can do this but you have to install some fan page application and that application is paid i think. Answered by Robert - Wed Dec 9 02:59:58 2009 What are some good visual artist grants for women? Q. Hello! I am searching for visual artist grants of any amount that can be used toward a publication (ie: catalog, monographs, book, etc). The grant does not have to be for female artists specifically, just a plus. I am located in Seattle, in case that matters. I am no longer a student. I would also appreciate any information on any databases where I can search, myself. Thank you! Asked by sallymknz - Mon Feb 9 13:56:38 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Try the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural affairs: You can also search our website free; you would need to log into the database and select the category "Arts, Culture & Humanities" in Washington State. Then you can use keywords to narrow your search. Answered by Grant Gopher - Mon Feb 9 16:56:17 2009 What can a martial artist do to move up a weight class?
Q. I want to know what a martial artist must do to move up a weight class and more importantly how can he keep the same speed when he does? I am curious about foods, supplements, and training drills for someone that fights in NHB or UFC fights. Asked by Anthony Cruz C - Wed Sep 20 17:59:21 2006 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you are talking one weight class, that usually isn't a problem. However most Martial Artists want to move down in weight classes as opposed to up. Why? Well because then you are at the top of that weight division, you will be stronger and bigger, or as strong and as big as you can be. The problem with moving up a division is that while you will make the initial weight requirement, you will be at a natural disadvantage, being weaker and at the bottom part of a division. Let's say for example we are talking MMA. You are thinking of moving from Middleweight 185lbs, to Light Heavyweight 205lbs. The problem isn't going to be how to get up past 185, I mean you can gain ten or fifteen pounds of muscle mass, hydrate up and be around 200.… [cont.] Answered by judomofo - Thu Sep 21 15:13:27 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "artist" Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions.
