A. Yes, mountain peak. Sediment washes in to deltas, lagoons, estuaries, and is formed by life around a reef. These environments also tend to occur in low lying areas, where the land may be slowly 'subsiding', thus preserving the sediment by protecting it from later erosion. In contrast, mountains are areas of 'uplift'. They are sites of long-term heavy erosion. Sediment is transported towards lower-lying areas.
